LiveTiles Reach allows content to be tagged with keywords so that content on specific topics can be easily found. With Channels, Reach also allows users to subscribe to information from a department, subsidiary, or specific product areas.
Channels can be used to group news articles or events thematically to publish content more specifically and to the right target group. Use meaningful channel names so that users know where to find each news or conversation.
Channels are assigned when an item is captured in the metadata, with at least one channel to be set:
Users can find published articles in the associated channel and see them in the left navigation in LiveTiles Reach:
The search options in the filter on the right also allow you to search for specific news from certain channels and thus narrow down the search results:
The arrangement of the channels defines a default order that is displayed to users in LiveTiles Reach. In addition, it can be determined in audience targeting which channels new users will see when you start using LiveTiles Reach:
Users can change the sorting in their personal settings and subscribe or remove channels based on their interests to create their own newsfeed. Mandatory channels cannot be removed.
In addition to optional channels, LiveTiles Reach can also define mandatory channels, such as assigned to specific groups. These are mandatory and cannot be removed by users. Default channels are automatically transferred to new content:
Further details on the configuration of the channels can be found here.
In addition to channels, there is also the option of using keywords to structure content. While channels are superordinate categories that function like the table of contents of a book, keywords are comparable to a keyword index, primarily those keywords that are relevant to the content of the text. Then it is helpful to ask the question: "How would users search for a corresponding text?".
Keywords can be assigned in LiveTiles Reach for news, pages and events and are divided into keyword groups:
Using the search function, content can be found quickly by filtering the desired keywords:
All keywords are managed in the settings. They can be created, extended, edited or deleted at any time. After creating them, they are available for news, pages and events:
Manual translations can be maintained per keyword group for all other languages that are provided in the LiveTiles Reach environment in addition to the standard language:
You want to send an important message to your employees and want to be sure that the recipients have actually received or opened it?
LiveTiles Reach offers the possibility to request a read confirmation per news article. To activate the readers confirmation, simply check the checkbox "Ask readers for confirmation" in the editor:
Users can now set the marker in articles with read confirmation request:
By downloading a provided Excel file, all reading confirmations for the article can be viewed clearly:
News of special importance or urgency must be highlighted from other news. This is configured in LiveTiles Reach in the right menu:
Users always see articles with alerts at the top of the newsfeed with an additional icon as long as defined for the article in the display duration:
Also news with readers confirmations always appear first to emphasize their importance:
Like, comment, share: The elements of social media have established themselves in the everyday life of many users. However, social interaction is not only for private use, but is also becoming more and more common in business communication.
Many so-called Social Actions are know by users from their private world, which means that the inhibition threshold for participation is low. Take advantage of these functions also in LiveTiles Reach to improve communication across departments and hierarchies, stimulate discussions and promote internal exchange. Receive important impulses and get to know the perspectives of your employees. It has rarely been easier to get involved as an employee, to make suggestions or give feedback on topics.
Decide for yourself for which articles you want to allow open communication by setting the appropriate markers in the editor:
Encourage the active participation of your employees in the company to exploit the full potential of the Social Intranet. The provision of social interaction opportunities is also transferred to the entire working environment and satisfaction.
Besides commenting, articles in LiveTiles Reach can be easily shared to make the link available in other areas:
An indicator of which functions are already well used and how the participation or interest in a topic is, can be tracked at any time with the line below an article. It evaluates the number of likes, comments, hits, bookmarks and readers confirmations:
Bookmarks can be set for articles to bookmark them and read them at a later time:
In the multitude of news, users thus have a personal area in which they can find the articles that they have specifically noted:
For news articles and events there are different ways to publish. For example, the exact time of publication, the target audience and the validity of an article can be set individually in the publication settings:
Decide in the available channels who the article should reach. Using the channel structure, the article can later be found in the navigation menu. If the article is written on behalf of another person, the field "In behalf of" can be used:
Editors or authors can also see the publishing settings at a glance in the news management:
Publication settings in events result from
In the LiveTiles Reach settings under "Channels" you can define which channels users will see when they start using LiveTiles Reach. Users can change the selection of their channels according to the configuration if necessary.
Users can only read and create news articles in groups of which they are members. Their roles determine which permissions they have within a group. Define target groups based on user properties, such as their department or group membership:
Then channels can be assigned to each target group using the "Channels" function:
Users can also be assigned to multiple target groups. You will see all channels from the assigned target groups.
When changes affect active users, new channels are added, but no channels are removed.
