MatchPoint-based RocheNet Wins Intra.Net Award 2015

More than 250 industry leaders from communications, human resources, knowledge and technology management chose MatchPoint-based RocheNet as the most innovative intranet regarding technology integration at the Intra.Net Reloaded 2015 in Berlin. RocheNet was also on the shortlist for the award on intranet integration strategy and digital workplace management and came second. Intra.Net Reloaded is the leading event for intranet and enterprise social in Europe.


The challenge

Roche has been founded in 1896 in Basel and has 85’000 employees in 150 countries on all continents. More than 600 regional intranets providing information about specific topics had become a challenge for information management and retrieval. Employees needed a lot of time to find content and stay informed. Different support models and editorial processes on different technology platforms made content publishing more and more inefficient.


The result

After an implementation time of only 11 months, the new RocheNet went live on 1 April 2014 and is currently one of the biggest intranets in Switzerland. User feedback is very positive and the migration process to relocate the content from the 600 old intranets is ongoing.

Roche built the new intranet on SharePoint and the MatchPoint Framework. The key characteristics of the solution are

MatchPoint metadata technology and our declarative approach helped Roche to considerably reduce custom development and was one of the key success factors with regards to the architecture.
